2004

  • Written an article entitled, “Pertandingan Bercerita Bahasa Kadazandusun Sempena Pesta Kaamatan Peringkat Daerah Penampang” for Kaamatan 2004 Souvenir Programme Book.

  • Attended and participated in “Bengkel Istilah Budaya Tempatan”, 5 May 2004, Hyatt Regency, Kota Kinabalu.

  • Delivered a presentation (as a panelist) via PowerPoint on “Indigenous Women’s Issues In Literacy & Education” at the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues III, organized by United Nations, 10 – 15 May 2004, New York.

  • Presented a paper entitled, “Morfologi Bahasa Kadazandusun Merujuk Khas Kepada ‘Penanda Fokus’ Dan ‘Partikel’” at the Seminar Bahasa-Bahasa Peribumi Di Malaysia 1, 3 August 2004, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

  • Attended “Seminar Keterampilan Berbahasa Melayu”, 13 October 2004, Tang Dynasty Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.

  • Compiled & edited Mengenali Bahasa Kadazandusun - Final stage of compilation.

  • Completed the Kamus Murut Timugon-Melayu project and launched the dictionary, 24 July 2004, Ballroom 1 Magellan Sutera Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.

  • Written a paper entitled, “Building Terminology In The Kadazandusun Language” for Current Issues In Language Planning (CILP) Journal.

2003

  • Performed the following on the Murut Timugon-Malay Dictionary project:

    1. Completed the Foreword, the Preface and other Preliminary pages (in Malay) (20 pages)

    2. Completed checking the Malay translations of the Introduction, Grammar Sketch and Ethnography Summary (145 pages)

    3. Prepared Content Pages (5 pages)

    4. Incorporated Preliminary Pages and Appendices (including Index = 54 pages) into the whole volume

    5. Copy edited Main text/body of the dictionary (X 2 rounds) (842 pages)

    6. Formatted Bibliography

    7. Formatted the whole volume

     

  • Participated in the first celebration of International Mother Language Day in Malaysia, 21 February 2003, Dong Jiao Zong Higher Learning Centre, Kajang, Selangor.

  • Written an article entitled “Laporan Bengkel Penulis Bagi Guru-Guru Bahasa Kadazandusun” for MGMBK 2003 Souvenir Programme Book.

  • Prepared Module for Kadazandusun language class for adults: Language Learning.

  • Prepared Module for Kadazandusun language teachers: Linguistic aspect of the Kadazandusun language.

  • Presented a paper on “The Language of the Bobohizan–The Kadazan Priestess With Specific Reference To Rice Planting Rituals” at the conference on “Confluence of Spiritual Energies”, 1 May 2003, TRCC, Tambunan.

  • Presented a paper (as a panelist) on “The Role Of The Kadazandusun Language Foundation (KLF) In Maintenance Of Identity In The Context Of Globalization” at the Asia-Pacific Forum for UNESCO, organized by Asia Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO (ACCU) and UNESCO, 29-31 July 2003, Tokyo, Japan.

  • Presented a paper on “The Role Of The Kadazandusun Language Foundation (KLF) In Developing Literature In Minority Languages” at a conference on “Language Development, Language Revitalization And Multilingual Education”, 6-8 November 2003, Bangkok, Thailand.

2002

  • Conducted three "Brown Bag Seminars" - an avenue for researchers to present their work on culture and languages of Sabah.

  • Participated in a training workshop, "Learning That Last" organized by Institut Linguistik SIL - Malaysia Branch.

  • Written two articles for MGMBK 2002 Souvenir Programme Book.

  • Conducted Library Research and field documentary for "The Language of the Bobohizan - The Kadazan Priestess" project.

  • Prepared materials for transcription and started transcription of collected data for "The Language of the Bobohizan - The Kadazan Priestess" project.

  • Written and presented a paper on "Exploring the Art of the Bobohizan - Keeper of Kadazan Rituals and Chants" presented at the 7th Biennial Conference of the Borneo Research Council (BRC), 15-18 July 2002, UMS, Kota Kinabalu.

  • Started compilation of articles to establish a collection of articles on Bobohizan for KLF Resource Centre.

  • Collected materials foa a database on "Penggerak Bahasa Kadazandusun".

  • Completed manuscript for a book on "Knowing The Kadazandusun" from its linguistic aspect.

  • On-going work on the Timugon-Malay-Dictionary project. Finalised the format and made the first printout in the chosen dictionary format.

  • On-going work on the English-Kadazandusun Synonym Compilation. Formatted into standard dictionary markers.

2001

  • Participated in "Phonology Workshop" organised by Institut Linguistik SIL- Malaysia Branch in March 2001

  • Produced article in Malay, "Persembahan Monusuzan, Monudodoi, Monugandoi dan Magandai" (Traditional Kadazandusun Legend, Sonet and Lullaby Medley Presentation) for souvenir programme in conjunction with the Kadazandusun Language Week organised by Sabah State Library

  • Conducted library research, social organisation mapping and data collection for "The Language of the Bobohizan-The Kadazan Priestess" Project

  • Prepared scripts for the "Learning Kadazan" radio program for Radio Television Malaysia (RTM)-Sabah station/branch

  • Represented the Foundation as panel member of the Murut Language Development Programme in Tenom, Sabah

  • Published an "English-Malay-Kadazandusun Beginner's Dictionary"
