Oct 2006,
“Moyog Family Literacy Project”
“Moyog Family Literacy Project” (2006 –
2008) is an ACCU-UNESCO Asia-Pacific Innovation
Programme for ESD (Education for Sustainable
Development). KLF is the sole recipient of the
award/grant in Malaysia. This is a pilot project
designed to involve families in documenting the
indigenous language and culture. It is currently
being conducted in Togudon village, Upper Moyog,
in the district of Penampang, Sabah, Malaysia.
In this project, KLF will first teach families
how to read and write in their own language or
dialect of Kadazandusun. Later on in the project,
KLF will then guide and teach families how to
write short stories. KLF hopes that by the end of
this project, families will be ready to compile
these stories into storybooks. The theme of the
project is “One Family, One Storybook”. |
